I'm organising a Stag do for my cousin, and would love to hear some feedback on bars and clubs that would be good to visit. We'll be there for 3 days in mid-July. Does anyone have suggestions on bars and clubs to visit, and if they would be difficult to gain entry to for around 5 guys? If anyone has 'stagged' it before in Stockholm would you have any advice for any other activities? I'm thinking go-karting, shooting etc? Any city centre hotel recommendations would be very welcome too. We're not your average English beer monkeys, so we'll not be overly rowdy or drunk, we'll be out for a good time, to enjoy ourselves and I'm sure we'd be keen to engage in conversation with some local Swedish girls Would anyone know of a decent one or two?
Any other info would be great as none of us have been to Sweden before. Couple of thoughts as we've done one stag do here although there were 15 of us which made the trendier bars more difficult to get into.
A popular tourist thing is take a boat trip into the archipelago - it's a bit sedate for a stag do but there's a rib boat option that's a lot more high powered. Here's a youtube link that someone posted:. A few people stayed at the Nordic Sea Hotel which is right by central station and has the Ice Bar in it's lobby. Any bar around Stureplan should fit the bill. We managed to get into several bey going in in groups of about 4.
Stay away from strip clubs in Stockholm. The Swedish strip scene is a bit seedy and its main objectivity is not exactly customer satisfaction. I haven't been to one myself but I have read enough not to be tempted even when I am drunk at 3am. ChristianB, thanks for the go-karting link, I'll be looking into that. I've no intention of getting ripped off like that so will do some research.
If you have any links of where you've heard negative things about Stockholms 'gentlemens clubs' I'd be interested in them in case I miss them in my search. Well it's not as bad as some of the Soho clubs where they threaten to beat you up if you don't pay the exorbitant bill.
