Hi yes we stayed in october the studio is very small its ok but there must be better the worst part of it is a prostitute operating directly below it in some sort of lock up she has!! Thanks for that! Have stayed there since I posted the question and was not impressed one bit! After one week of constant traffic noise despite the accommodation being described as the "perfect retreat" by our brochure we asked to be relocated and thankfully had a perfect 2nd week an hour away! We too believed a prostitute was operating along the street but were more aware of a nearby resident persistently coughing up phlegm and revving his motorbike during the early hours of the morning!!
Last day of our 14 day stay in Nizza Studio no3. The apartment is very compact but more than adequate for a couple but would not like to use the sofa bed with additional people. The decor is neutral and everything is clean. For a self catering apartment the kitchen is poorly equipped with a collection of mis-matched crockery and pans. Only one wine glass and no corkscrew. Ortygia is a busy bustling place with lots of tourists bussed in daily as well as the holdaymakers and residents.
Via Nizza is no exception and this can result in noise until 8 or 9pm. Nights were quiet and generally undisturbed,. As a base for exploring these apartments are ideal and shops cafes and restaurants are in abundance.
Te daily food market is to die for and certainly encourages home cooking. Most stallholders speak some English and tasters are always available.
We had sea view which was amazing and yes the was local traffic but did not disturb us. Kitchen was adequately stocked for 2 people although corkscrew was broken. Change of towels and bedding mid week would have been nice. The local market was amazing - wonderful fresh fruit and veg, also lovely fish the swordfish steaks were truly tasty. Also found a butchers where you could buy chicken and veal escalopes all breaded and ready to cook. Very easy to eat in cheaply, local bread and olives are also good for lunch with some local ham and cheese.
