GARDAI disturbed a 'punter' in his late 20s just as he finished having sex with a teenage prostitute in a Limerick city brothel, a court heard yesterday. Limerick Circuit Court heard that the Clareman, who was not named, was told by the girl that she was aged Louise Keane 24 , Richmond Court, Mount Kennett Place, Limerick admitted yesterday that for 10 months in she ran a brothel at her home. The court heard that the accused, along with the girl and a male, were all engaged in prostitution there.
Detective Garda Susan Delaney described searching the apartment on foot of a warrant on November 11, In a bedroom gardai came across a man and the young girl. Both were getting dressed at the time. A used condom lay beside the bed. In a statement, the Clareman confirmed he heard that a brothel was in operation in the city and was given a number to ring.
They were just out of bed when gardai arrived. Keane, the brothel keeper, was in the kitchen and admitted to gardai that she owned the apartment and lived there with the two others. She made a full statement describing how, in December , she met a man from Cork who had three girls working as prostitutes for him. In August, she began operating her own brothel along with another man and the young lady.
Clients were met in a shop across the street by a male prostitute who brought them to the apartment. After hearing that the defendant was unwell and taking anti-depressants, Judge Sean O'Leary adjourned sentence until May 13 to see if she could get her life back together.
