Our 19 year old nephew and his friends are thinking of driving to San Felipe Beach by crossing at Mexicali. These boys have never really traveled before. How safe is this? The US universities and government are issuing serious warnings. There are no posts here on Mexicali from the last year. Not a good sign. Anyone been this route recently? No news is no always bad news. As long as anyone traveling to Mexico isn't involved in drugs or prostitution, there should be no immediate cause for alarm.
Use common sense and good judgement, don't go wondering around at night or cause any trouble and everything should be fine. If they are travelling this weekend they should have a blast.
